Windsor Place Admission Criteria

In order to be admitted to Windsor Place residents must either have mastered the criteria or have the potential to fulfill each of the following criteria:

1. Must be able to self transfer if in a wheelchair.
(No motorized wheelchairs allowed.)
2. Must be a non-smoker.
3. Must adhere to the individualized program set up by the Care Team.
4. Must be willing to work with the program laid out by the Occupational Therapist.
5. Must adhere to the Physical Therapy routine that has been laid out for them by the Physical Therapist.
6.  Must follow the medical course of treatment prescribed by their primary physician.
7. Must work at their individualized program, which includes learning how to assist with cleaning their rooms and doing their laundry.
8. Residents are allotted chores such as setting the table; emptying the dishwasher, or whatever the Care Team feels is a skill that the resident can accomplish.

The main goal for each resident of Windsor Place
is for the staff to assist each person in their care program in order to reach their maximum level of independence. It is hoped that once the resident has completed a program that has been designed for them, they will move to a lower level of care in either a more independent adult foster home setting or, possibly, be able to get their own apartment.

Windsor Place cannot guarantee that all residents will move to total independence. However, it can provide residents who have suffered a traumatic brain injury a safe, caring, and compassionate environment in which to thrive along with others who are afflicted with a similar set of challenges, and the opportunity to realize their fullest potential.
